I never pick up a call from anyone outside my contacts and have been the target of so many unwanted calls recently despite being on the 'do not call' registry. They'd have to leave a message if it is important enough. This is one such call and am reporting the very first instance - no message, added to auto-reject list!
I had been getting called by them anywhere from 1-2 times to 5-8 times each day, even after telling them I wasn't interested and asked to be put on their "Do Not Call" list to no avail. Fortunately, our phone has a "Call Block" function so we aren't disturbed by the phone ringing and they either can't or don't leave a message. This isn't enough to keep them from trying, though. The calls are still logged, and in the past 6 days they've called us 11 times!
I forgot to tell you that if you use a home phone rather than just cell phones in your home (one connected either to a phone jack or a VOIP service like Vonage or others,) and don't mind spending a few bucks to block as many numbers the phone allows, there are several around. I got ours from BJs, but I'm sure all the membership and department stores sell them. Every wireless phone at our BJs; VTech, Panasonic, AT&T and I don't remember how many others, had a Call Blocking function where, once you enter their phone number you won't hear from them again! Ours can also automatically block calls without phone numbers, which may bite you if you're waiting for, say a call from your doctor. If he/she calls from their cell or home phone they probably have it set up to block their phone number on outgoing calls so they don't end up with "problem" patients constantly calling them when they're out of the office. I just checked Panasonic and all but 3 of their wireless home phones, ranging from (list prices, NOT store prices!) $30 to over $230 for a 2-line, up to 12-handset small business phone with more features than I care to list (I'm NOT a Panasonic salesman!) comes with Call Blocking
Constantly have been receiving calls from the, "Healthcare Enrollment Center," over last several months, tell them to stop calling, Tell Mr I'm on Do Not Call list, always different numbers. Just a minor nuisance.
