Thursday 07 January 2016 -- 11:08 am -- Called on my cell phone. Picked up. Caller is a contractor looking for work. Clearly considering spam, since other internet complaints report this is a disconnected number.
Just received a call from this number. They stayed on the line just long enough to trigger my answering machine, but didn't leave any message. When I immediately called them back (after blocking my own number first), I get a message that this number is disconnected! Why can't this kind of fraud (no traceable phone number), along with nuisance cold calls, be stopped by the FCC or PUC (because, obviously, the National Do Not Call people cannot)?
