Calls, silent for a second and then a recorded voice says "Goodbye". Start answering the calls from telemarketers. String them along and take as much of their time as you possible can. If we all start doing it maybe it will slow them down just a little. We have a yearlong bet in our house every year about who can keep them on the longest. I was in the lead with 26 minutes until last month. Our oldest daughter, home from college, took the lead Thanksgiving weekend with 42 minutes. She acted like a very old woman who was hard of hearing. She actually got them to sit and wait for over 4 minutes while she answered the doorbell.
The "The FBI reports a home break-in ..." calls have stopped completely. Rachel from Cardholder Services still calls at least once a month but it's better than the 1-3 calls we used to get daily.
If you keep them on the phone for even 5 minutes think how many people they can't call. Come up with a good character and enjoy aggravating them for a change.
