A "Microsoft Windows Support" person called at 7:08 EST with a destinctive Pakistani accent.
Normally, like "T" above, I do a "pay-it-forward" by wasting as much of their time as possible so it becomes less economical for them to scam other people. But it was a bit early and I just hung up. My record time waster was over an hour, continuously putting them on soft hold while continued on with reading a book. If everyone donated a little time scamming the scammers they would have a hard time retaining their employees.
Caller ID read "California call". I was expecting a call from California so I answered. Wrong caller! It was a man calling about my computer. When I asked what he thought about my computer he hung up. There were voices in the background and they seemed to be calling people about their computers. What a bunch of idiots! This time he didn't even get around to claiming to be from Microsoft.
At 6:56AM, yes 6:56 AM, got another call from a man, with a heavy accent middle eastern. Caller ID said Martin Grace with phone # 626-963-6356. So I knew it was a scam call. I picked it up as a business, a nice greeting and asked how can I help you? He went on to say he was with AOL Computer Services, and was calling about my computer. So I asked who he would like to talk to?? What Department was he looking for??? He was speechless, LMAO----then he asked if this was a company?? I sad yes it is, he hung up. PS-- people with heavy middle eastern accents-- **** Do not have American Names. The other day they called, Caller ID said unavailable , so I greeted him as Mr. Unavailable, He said Yes his name was Mr. Unavailable, that was his name --what a Idiot--- again ask about AOL computers services. So I acted excited and asked him if he was buying me a computer, did I WIN??? He hung up on me. Next will be a whistle LMAO. These scammer cannot be stopped . They spoof phone numbers
Fake Windows. This is a personal record. I kept her and her supervisor on for 19 minutes. First I had to turn on my computer then I had to reboot it then we discussed the picture of the snowy mountain on the screen for several minutes. Finally she was able to direct my "dumb azz" to the home screen. (All done in my best grandma voice) then she asked what do I see in bottom right corner. I told here an Amazon picture. She became frustrated and went back through instruction to get to home screen. I was then instructed to hit Windows icon and "r" at the same time. She said what do you see. I told her the screen is blank. What did I do wrong? We went back through how to get to the home screen again. Finally she said "www r waiting my time aren't www?" I said yes and she had the nerve to call me a "liar" I said yes I am a liar" she hung up. I miss her.
I got a call from this number this morning at 7:40am. I had got a call from this number before and the pos on the other end told me he wanted to discuss the issue I was having with my computer. I told him he should be ashamed of himself and a few other choice words. This is for sure a scam.
