A "Microsoft Windows Support" person called at 7:08 EST with a destinctive Pakistani accent.
Normally, like "T" above, I do a "pay-it-forward" by wasting as much of their time as possible so it becomes less economical for them to scam other people. But it was a bit early and I just hung up. My record time waster was over an hour, continuously putting them on soft hold while continued on with reading a book. If everyone donated a little time scamming the scammers they would have a hard time retaining their employees.
Got a call from this number this morning at 7 AM. The man left a short, WHISPERED message on my machine that I could not understand. Freaks! This is why I buy phones (land lines) that have an OFF ringer. I don't buy one without this feature. I ALWAYS shut my phone off when I retire for the evening. For emergencies, family knows to call my cell. THIS is how I take care of idiots like these, plus, I can get a full nights rest.
Called at 7:39am, said they were with Apple calling about my Windows on my computer. I wasn't happy getting a scam call so early, I said do you realize it is only 7:39 and hung up on him. The name Martin Grace then the number.
This was a Scam call and the number that showed up was not the actual number calling from because the person was from India and was trying to con me into believing that Microssoft saw some problems with my computer and they wanted to be able to remote in. I am sure they are unhappy about getting me since I have done IT work for decades and I immediately recognize scams.
When I asked what country they were calling from, they told me USA. When I asked where, they said Ohio. I said "OMG they are looking for a serial killer over there." Phone number on caller ID is from Calif though I'm sure that's not a country. Should have kept him on the phone longer since I was awake and he didn't know which Windows computer was causing the problem.
