On 8.6.2014 I received a call from this number, too. No caller ID. I did not answer and no message was left. Interestingly, I had recently been on the phone with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, as "scamfighter" stated the caller represented themselves, when spoken with.
Hello. Unknown caller. Did not answer. Did track it and is listed with BCBS. I had spoken with BCBS in MD and TX and then received two late calls and one the following day from a Wheaton, IL number. Did not call back, they did not leave a message on any of the calls. Will ignore from now on. I am already on a do not call list. After seeing all the posts, BCBS should look into their situation, either checking the numbers or someone internal is hacking and selling? Really glad for those who post. It helps us all know what is out there. If it is valid and important they will leave a message.
I called BCBS yesterday. Today I got 2 calls from this number and they hung up on me both times. I called back the 2nd time and it started an automated call manager asking me to select a language, etc without announcing who they were. I'm very busy and don't have time for this nonsense.
I called BC/BS customer service yesterday, and received a call from this number with FEP BCBS as caller ID. I found it strange that they would call on a Saturday, and when I answered nobody talked.
Very annoying
Someone at BCBS is selling these numbers. Or someone has hacked their system. The reason I say this is because I called BCBS yesterday about an outstanding invoice and I called from my office phone, not my cell phone. But they always ask for a number just in case they need to call back or for verification reasons, I'm not sure. Either way I gave them my cell phone number which is the only personal phone I have. Yesterday afternoon I received two scam calls and today a call from this number. It's not the number you are calling from, it's the number you give them when they talk with you.
Like I said; inside job or hacker. Either way they need to check into it.
