I got the radio show scam too. But it just struck me as so bogus. I mean, I'm a very small potatoes kinda guy--who would care what I have to say? Also, the "executive producer" (who in real life would not be the one to make a cold call to a nobody) didn't say where he got my name, so there was no reference or referral from any of my actual clients or colleagues. I didn't play the caller long enough for him to get to how much money he wanted from me for the privilege of being on his lousy internet radio show, but I could smell it coming. I actually was in broadcasting way back in the 20th century, so I know this ain't how it worked then--except for the scam, which is timeless.
It goes to show you meat n potatoes guy that you probally did not go to college and probaly work a irrevelant job. The internet radio show you were offered was similiar to a few I gradly just paid for and completed . The radio back in the 80s and 90s was traditional AM/ FM stations you did not pay to be interviewed on a talk show , cause the stations had commercial sponsers to pick up that tab. The internet radio is still in its infancy and doesnt have much sponsership dollars. Just cause there is a charge for it does not make it a scam. For instance I did 3 interviews were they let me promote my bisiness . I then uploaded them to personal website . Since I had them up there i cant tell you how many customers said to me it was either between you and joe blow down the block but "he didnt have his own radio show"
It is an image enhancer it gives others the impression you are better or more qualified in your practice than your competition . Guess what people want to hire the best.
On other thing I highly doubt you own a company or are even a professional of any type . You mention how you " played the caller" who does that , a low life thats who This guy is trying to make a living you either politley telling him no thanks its not for you or you listen to his pitch . The fact you called it a "scam" and then say you didnt let the sales rep propose any dollar figure. How do you know there was anycharge ? Lets say the sales rep was to charge $50 and upload it to your website or facebook page , would that be a scam ? Before you go on here making false accusations think first you look foolish. You also look like you never started any business for that matter people who did do not purposely waste other peoples time . I would guess your a government worker / state, annd your right they had no bisiness offering you the interview. They help benefiit owners of companies , authors , professionals trying to build thier brand , you probally are one of those who though Twitter amd Linked in were scams as well . Stop leaving in the 20th century we have been out of it for almost 15 years now.

To Whoever replied to meat and potatoes guy and claims to know so much about promoting your business with social media,and internet based radio programming. Please do us all a favor and go back to school to learn how to spell or use spell check when you post comments. To a computer savvy person such as yourself this should NOT be a problem.
Secondly, government and state workers are the back bone of this country and in this crappy economy where employers aren't paying employees a living wage much less benefits, state and government workers are the most "comfortable" and "stable" in our society. Not to mention, they have more job security than you do, because it is so apparent that you are an employee for the company replying to this post. Lastly, I can almost bet this meat and potatoes guy will be laughing at you, when it he can retire with a full pension and you can't because your company doesn't offer benefits to "independent contractors", which I'm sure you are.
You go as far as questioning his professionalism because he doesn't own a company which is so ignorant. I've worked for many small business owners who would put a truck driver to shame. Whose bullying and intimidation tactics challenge a nazi soldier and ethics and integrity do not exist. So, while you're looking down your nose at meat and potatoes guy, the world is looking down their nose at you because you just showed this little part of the world, your true colors.
