CID shows Ronkonkoma NY. There is no sound from the call. It will probably call a dozen times over the next 1-2 weeks and be silent and then finally their robo-dialer will work properly and switch over to a call center full of scamming scumbags when a live answer is detected. Not that I've experienced this kind of thing before. . . .

CID showed NEW YORK, so I let the answering machine take it, and then after the beep, I hear "Hello?", and then they hung up. I guess the ir robo-caller isn't sophisticated enough to recognize an answering machine. However, I'm smart enough not to pick up for just a "Hello?". If you are a real person and called my business for a real reason, then tell it to the machine, and I'll get back to you.
CID still shows Ronkonkoma NY - Silence for about 4-5 seconds followed by somewhat quiet call center. Man says hello is the name of company? I'm silent. He says hello again. And again says hello is this name of company but can't say the simple name correctly. He went on saying hello periodically for thirty seconds as the receiver was sitting on my desk. We'll see if they're on the ball next year.
