Yesterday a man named John Carter (Indian accent included) called from this number and knew that I had a Dell Pc along with the model and service tag number. He said the Dell servers were showing malicious software on my PC and that if I gave him remote access he could fix it. I asked if I could put him on hold and while he was holding, I called Dell and they said they NEVER contact a customer and that it was a fraudulent call. I thanked Mr. Carter for calling and hung up. They've called no less than 15 times since yesterday afternoon. Sometimes caller ID shows Private Number, other times a string of digits and other times US Tech Care. Apparently ex-Dell employees are using personal data to sell something.
Called for the first time today. I did not answer! Prior to this number I was getting calls from another number: 800-625-9896, with the same type ploy. Dell Computers something wrong with your computer! All Indian accents!
After several robo calls, my wife gave me her police WHISTLE and when they called again, I had it on speaker phone and when he started talking, I blew the whistle loud enough to bust his ear drum or certainly give him a headache for a period of time. No more calls after that...
This must be my lucky day!! A half hour ago I got a call from a scammer from Wyoming (which I also didn't answer or call back as this site listed it as a student loan scam). What's the record for the most scam calls in a single day??
