Just got a voicemail from "Kim" at bridal registry that I won a bridal package. I only registered at David's Bridal too during the initial intake when I was dress shopping. I called my local David's Bridal location and they said it sounded like a scam- the girl said if it had been them they would've said David's Bridal/Men's Warehouse.
i was debating on calling this number also. i received a call from "amanda" saying i won a bridal package. you never know anymore. people always want something so i didnt want to get stuck in the loop. thank you for your comments. they were very helpful.
I was suckered in with my husband. They use the registration information so everyone who attended a bridal fair gets a call. They try to sell you pots and pans. They actually looked decent, so my husband and I gave the downpayment to the rep. Then we get a phone call saying they want 50% down, we said nevermind send us back our money. The company replied, what money. There was no deposit on our account. Luckily I had copies of everything, including the envelope where where we were told to send our deposit to in the sales reps handwriting. After fighting for three weeks, we finally got our money back. Oh yeah, those two free rings they offer you, they are about $30-$70 through e-Bay or K-Mart. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
I received a call today, since it was a private number I decided to say I wasn't home and took a message instead. ”Lisa from The Bridal Registry, tell her she won a Bridal package” I decided to wait 20 minute before calling back.
When I called back I was told you're name was randomly selected, Congratulations you have won 3 prizes.
1. An all inclusive trip or two titanium wedding bands.
2. A gift card
3. 20-40% off their cookwear.
I was then told I needed to go to a nearby hotel for an hour and a half, no obligation to but anything and after I answered a 10 question survey, and collect my gifts.
I also received a call a few days ago. The number wasn't blocked so I came on here to check it out. Looks like not calling back is the best bet based on the above.
Answer to M above - I would say that if you have to go somewhere to do something to win, I just think that sounds sketch. We've all been pulled into those vacation time-share things, and you know how that always turns out :) I would skip it. I think if you win something, you get a direct call and you win it. No strings attached.
But HEY. If you win something for REAL let us know ;)
