Thanks for the info. I didn't answer the call....instead I blocked it so that they can't reach me again. So much for the No-call list that I'm registered for!

Shame on these people! They have called at my work 3 times today! The caller ID comes up as "United Breast C". The woman who talks to you when you are answering the phone asks for Sandra. She first called right around 8am. I politely told the lady that we are a place of business and that she has the wrong number, then she hung up. She called again around 2:15pm. I answered and again she just said, "Uhhh, Sandra?" Again, I told her we are a place of business and that she has the wrong number. Called back a THIRD TIME at 3:30pm. My co-worker answered this time. The lady again asked for Sandra. My co-worker tried to tell them AGAIN that we are a place of business but this time, the woman began to start her little speech about different facts about breast cancer and statistics. My co-worker told her politely to put us on their "Do not call" list. Hopefully they will stop calling us!!!

I don't like robo-liars
I think this is a scam. The "caller" first said, "(giggle) It's about as hard to get a hold of you as it is to get my kids to clean their rooms." I was working from home, and it sounded like one of my coworkers, but then she said, "This is Maria with United Breast Cancer Foundation." At first, I listened politely, thinking it was a real person. Then it hit me that I was speaking with a robot, so I interrupted and said, "Is this a robot?" "Caller" replied simply, "No." So I asked, "Who is the president of the United States?" Caller said, "Okay, if you can't help now, we'll just call back later," or something to that effect. There was no option to opt out of calls. I hate these kinds of robo-calls that try to trick you into thinking you are speaking with a real person, so I called them back for two reasons, to give them an earful for basically lying to people and to ask to have my name removed from their list. When I called the number back, I got a machine that gave me several options. One was to speak to a live person. When I made that selection, the machine told me to leave my name and number and someone would call me back in the next two or three business days. I tried some of the other options to try to get a live person, but it was impossible. Finally, I chose number two, the opt-out option. The machine message tried to GUILT me and then verified my phone number. I was told by the machine that my phone number would be removed within the next few days. I received their call around 9:30 a.m. and called back shortly thereafter. So I find it highly suspicious that a charity doesn't have someone on hand to speak to a potential donor during regular business hours. Also, I don't think a legitimate charity would allow a "robot" to lie. And if it is a legitimate charity, I certainly would not donate to a non-profit that basically lies to me when they call.

I've been getting daily calls from this number so I finally decided to pick up to see what they wanted. On the onther end of the line, there was what sounded like a kind older lady. She mentioned my father's name (my parents used to live in the house I currently live in now) and I said that he wasn't available and I asked if I could take a message for her. She said something along the lines of "Oh, it's fine! I can talk to you! Trying to get ahold of you guys is like trying to get my children out of bed in the morning! Hahaha!" and she proceeded to give me details on what she was raising money for. Since she seemed nice I figured I'd just let her down easy so I told her that we weren't interested in donating at this time. She then asked to speak with my mom and dad and I said that neither of them were home. Then she said the thing about getting her kids out of bed again. Word for word. Exact same tone. Exact same laugh. It was a recording. I just got played. By an elderly lady.

tl;dr
It's a recording that doesn't sound like a recording. I'd say it's a scam.
