My last call from this number was back in June. They called me again yesterday at 4:01 pm. I was at work, and they left no message. Caller ID said "out of area". I will be reporting them to the FCC and FTC and including some of the information other posters found out about these low-lifes.
You're right - the Credit Card Services/Cardmember Services/cucaracha of the month name people are THE most difficult folks to pry information on. With them, it's best to multitask and all the while use up their time so they can't call/cheat other people while you have them engaged on the line.
Chris,
I set up an appointment in 2/2012, met them w/ notepad and camera, they didn't like having their pictures taken!! And they must not keep good records, because they came out for a similar "appointment" in 2011. Many of the air duct and carpet cleaner scammers hale from the San Fernando Valley, and they probably had to burn $15-20 in gas to get to the "appointment."
Many times it's tough even getting a company name/callback # after the "appointment" is made.
Finally, Chris and JQA are to be commended for being part of the solution by taking proactive steps to uncover the callers' identities!!
Armed with a license plate, a government agency would be able to asceertain who works for the entities - us regular folks have to pay a P.I. to get the DMV info.
