They call every few days at any hour........I have never had a student loan or attended college. Never pick up when I see their name on caller ID. Do Not Call does not work with these people.
Mohela Student Loan Services... Acting as a collection agency trying to skip trace someone I used to know. First time, they hung up. Second time 20 seconds later, they played a prerecorded message with a number to call that was shut down because it was 'after hours'. First, the repeated calls (not just today, but every few weeks or so) are a violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act; Second, only a dumbass would leave a callback number that's closed without leaving hours of operation; Third, pretty damn rude to call after hours and refuse to take return calls when you're looking for someone to help you out with information you're going to make money off... If anyone from Mohela reads this (if anyone from Mohela can read) then get a cure for that Recto-Cranial Inversion you're suffering from as an agency, quit violating federal law and offer up some cash if you want information you're going to profit from... and get yourself some competent people both on the lending side and the collecting side. Bunch a ***expletive deleted***.
Received a call from 636-532-0600 with no Caller ID. A recorded message was left on my voice mail saying that someone at this address and phone may have information for someone they are looking for -- they do not state the name of who they are looking for. The message asked that someone call them back at: 800-666-5352 or 636-532-0600 Ext. 4721. If they can't tell me who they are looking for, I can't tell them if I have an address or phone number.
Got the same exact phone call and message today from 636-532-0600, I thought it was weird aswell that they didn't mention who they were looking for, So I didn't call back. I figured it was just a bogus call from a telemarketer. I guess I was right.
Someone speaking very quickly left a message on my work phone identifying themselves as Mohela and asking for a callback at 1-800-666-4352 or 636-532-0600 x4721. When I called back, they wanted MY ssn. ummm, I don't think so. My student loan has been repaid about 30 years ago.
