I received a call on 3/21/16 from this number. The first person had such a heavy Indian accent that I asked to speak to someone who could speak English clearly. The next person got the same request. The 3rd person whose accent was still heavy but he was more understandable.
I told the 3rd person that I would only speak to someone in the US. He replied that they were in New York.(Yeah right) He said that they were with some computer company that has determined the fraud was being committed with my computer on the internet. He wanted me to give him remote access to fix the problem before I was in legal trouble. I knew all along that this was a scam. At this point I have wasted at least 30 minutes of their time by letting them think that I was really believing their crap. I finally let him think that I was signing on to my computer but could not access the internet because I think I forgot to pay my bill. I love to jack with these Indian as*****s. They fools call back the next day.
Called back after swore at them and told them to quit scamming yesterday. Tried to report to State police and State attorney general. Not doing that work. Told to contact Federal Trade Commission. Guess I need to stop worrying and quit answering the phone.
Phone rang, caller I D said New York. Decided to answer just for grins. Heavy accented Indian guy. Said he was from Microsoft Technical . I understood him the first time but made him repeat it 3 different times. Then when he said it the last time I said" oh sure, you are from microsoft, scammer !and hung up on them. I knew they were probably going to ask me to go to my computer, etc. Problem: they called my deceased parents phone number and no computer so knew that was a scam right up front.
