What a scam! Do they think good US legal citizens are stupid and use fear from our government. (Not )we live in the Best country ever and stand tall and proud.8/112017
You can report it on the IRS website given by CWG40 above. Unfortunately there is no way to get your number taken off because there's nowhere TO have it taken off. The scammers are likely just calling numbers at random or all numbers in a given sequence, hoping to scam anyone they talk to.
This call looks like FRAUD to me: "This call is to inform you that we have received a legal petition notice concerning a tax fraud against you. So before this matter goes to the Federal claims court house or before you get arrested. Please call immediately on our department number 646-349-9618. Make sure you call us as soon as possible."
Computer generated message stating they're the IRS and this is the final attempt for
contact. They have a legal petition notice of a tax fraud against me. I have to contact them before I get arrested or it goes to the federal claims courthouse. Yeah ok. I had this before I called back and had a very heavily Middle East accented person try to get money from me. When I kept asking questions they used profanity and hung up on me.
