Ever since giving my cell number to my doctor's office two weeks ago, I'm receiving non-stop calls from this number and from others claiming to be insurance companies. They claim to be conducting a survey for the Dept. of Health. When I asked how they got my number they hung up.
Same story as everyone else. He said it was the NYC Health Department. I didn't let him get past the introductory spiel. I said I had no way of knowing who he was and wasn't going to talk. He said ok and hung up. Why would anyone give personal health data to an unapproved caller?
This number kept calling my elderly mother's assurance wireless phone at different parts of the day. The worse part, she called the number back to see who it was to get the usual scam sounding message and thought it was from a state agency. Protect your elders!
