SCAMMERS!! Please be aware of people r attempting to run this scam all over the US. When I questioned the validity of the 'grant' I was being told about (as I could most CLEARLY hear someone else in the room most likely running the same scam on someone else!) the lady on the other end became QUITE annoyed with me, asking if I wanted the grant or not! After I said no, she abruptly hung up on me!! Please make certain other are aware of this scam & those conducting it before someone TRULY gets taken!!
Got a call that was being awarded a grant from the federal government because I don't have any criminal record, etc. The person could not even speak English properly. I asked how she knew I don't have a record and she said, "Because we're the federal government and we know everything." She then said she needed some background information and asked my name. I said, "I thought you knew everything. How do you know I don't have a record if you don't even know my name?" She said because they have my phone number! I was trying to get all the info I could because they probably scam personal info out of the elderly but she then started calling me a bit*h, [***], mother f**ker, etc. and hung up on me.
I just got a call also from the same number and I sent the call to an auto message saying "Please stop calling me. I know your phone number is associated with a telemarketer and I do not answer those types of calls. Stop calling" Right after I get a text from them saying "f*** you" lol. then they came back and texted again all in lower case.. "please call me once. my name is James Miller thanks".. I finally blocked them.
