As usual, I got this call. BUT this time he knew my info (address and such). I laughed at him and then he swore at me. I went back and forth with him for a little for amusement then I told him to [***] off and have a nice day. :)
I don't know about everyone else, but my caller didn't give me a company name. Says he was with a private branch of the government, that I'd "earned & won" $8000 from a random selection from a list of "good citizens" meeting certain criteria (no DUI's on my record, properly filed taxes for 10 years in a row, not unemployed for more than 30 days in past 5 years, & others). He asked my first name & age. Asked what I would do if I had $8000. Asked me if I had debt from gambling, drugs, or alcohol. Asked my marital status. Asked if I was employed, going to school, or had received government assistance in past 6 months. Then told me to write down 2 numbers (AR123 & 224). Informed me to call a different number in order to follow further steps to get my "prize". That phone# is 206-204-4739 (Seattle,WA). Didn't call. Looked up this number, & blocked it as well as the 206#. Only "personal" information I was honest about was my marital status. Good luck to anyone who falls for this.
I have been getting at least 5 calls per day from 646-582-2989 and other numbers for some time now. They are all stating that they will awarded me a grant also. I have women and men call the last guy was on 2/20/2016, I asked him politely to take me off the call list then he started to swear and say up seen things to me. I told him that my phone was tapped by the police and he just kept saying up seen things, he also stated that his father was with the FBI after I told him that the American police was going to come and arrest him it did not seem to phase him he just kept going then it sounded like he put the call on mute and just sat there and tried to listen to what was going on - on my end of the phone. all callers sounded like they were indian.
Your callers have nothing to do with the US government; they are Indian and Pakistani scammers. Invest in a call blocker and do NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.
