I received a phone call today from this operation claiming they work for Microsoft company claiming I have a service contract with them. The caller has since tried to call at least twice.
This is a computer scam. They sound from India. They will not stop, using
phone numbers, all over the place. I told them to stop. They call every day. I'm
on a do not call list. How do they get through?. Turn these people in to police.
no one seems to care. Stop this, and all the calls, and numbers from this con computer site. Several years ago , I did hire them, but stopped because from India, or near, they are not easy to talk to.
"I'm on a do not call list. How do they get through?" Very simple, they dialed (or their computer program dialed) your phone number. The DNC list is not any kind of blocking system. It requires active participation by those callers required by law to use it. That means they must either manually check numbers they wish to call against the list or program their computerized dialers to do the screening automatically. Do you honestly think foreign scammers are going to register with the FTC, purchase the list, then program their calling software to avoid those numbers?
The DNCR is not meant to act as a call blocker. It is meant to prevent legitimate businesses from calling. But it is not going to stop telemaggoters. The operation that you have described is based overseas and that makes impossible to take any kind of action against them unless their government is willing to allow our agencies to conduct an investigation and that is not about to happen.
Total scam! Saying that I paid for computer service so that they needed to work on it. When I asked the company name he said "Superior fixing center"
When I told him that I know it's a spam call and asked him to not to call this number anymore he threatened me and said " I will call you every single day and I will charge you $500"
