I say kudos to you I'm glad you did it and I'm glad that you were able to stop him from calling other people and scamming them into giving their information thank you so much for this information cuz my mother and just got a call from those exact same number which as we all know is a recording but I'm glad that you did this help me out and I hope it helps millions of others
I get a scam phone call almost daily, usually they claim it is a payday loan or IRS, today was IRS and I felt like playing with these people. Here is the robo call voicemail. So I call them and a guy answers as officer something and gives me a fake badge number. I always google every non-local number and if I see a 800notes.com entry for you I know it is a telemarketer or scammer.
So the guy tells asks for my name and zip code so I gave him the wrong name and zip, put me hold for a minute and said the IRS case # 80-2059 has caused an arrest warrant to be placed for my arrest. Oh no, so scared lol. So I asked him why are cops dealing with IRS issues, they have auditors for that? Also said my husband works at IRS and I will ask him. He said that case number won't be seen at the IRS, it is already forwarded to only his office.
He said this is a very serious matter and an arrest warrant is out. I asked in what jurisdiction? I said since you are an officer saying I could be arrested you have to tell me what local police office has the arrest warrant been placed? He sounded frustrated and said I need to put you on hold. 10 seconds later, the call was disconnected.
Scam!!!! This number called me and told me and told me that I have tax issues with the IRS and I have to pay them $3,970 to buy a Federal Certified Voucher. They have heavy Indian accent.
I just got the same robo call within the hour! I listened on my answering machine. Threatened legal action and a warrant if I don't call 646-809-9639 and settle this case. What case? Have nothing up my sleeve I know about. I definitely checked the internet for this scam,,, And found it here! Must be making their rounds. lol.
