Robo call starting that there were serious allegations against me and before I'm taken into custody by local police I should call immediately. What is this and whho is this?
I also received a robo voice message saying I have four serious allegations and the local cops will take me into custody if I dont call this 646 number.
While it is true that the IRS writes letters and sends notices through the mail, they have also started (as of June 2017), contracting with other companies to make calls on their behalf, to collect overdue payments.
What separates them from scammers is that the real IRS will NEVER threaten you in ANY way; they will not tell you that you are being sued or that cops are on their way or you will be arrested. These are clearly earmarks of a criminal/scammer. If a real IRS person calls you, ask them to provide you with WRITTEN information on the issue.
