Girl called and very rude to me and won't let me talk. They pretend to be working for Gas or Hydro company. When you ask a question about who their company is? If they are selling something? they do not give you a direct answer. They want to qualify you for a Government grant. She became upset with me and my probing questions. She hung up on me!! Direct Energy and Enbridge along with other Power Companies trying to sell or rent you a hot water heater.
Called 9 times since Nov 19th. Said it was a survey. First time I told them not interested. Second time I told them they called me before, not interested, and told to them to F-off and hung up. Third time I blocked them. Still calling me. I might report them but I agree it is probably a spoofed number from outside the country and the DNCL will be useless.
They called two times today and I googled the number and started reading this forum and they called again. I asked for a password and she hung up. Thanks, I think this will be my new polite way of hangling the scamers
Caller wanted to ask a bunch of questions to see if I qualified for an eco-energy rebate. Questions were was I the owner of the house? had I replaced windows and doors in past 10 years? had I replaced heat source in last 10 years, water heater in last 5 years? how old was house? had I replaced air conditioning system in past 10 years? was I over 75 years of age? - they then wanted to send someone to the house to inspect it to see if I qualified for any of these rebates but could not tell me how much and when I would get them. Believe they are asking these questions to see what they can sell to me. Should not have answered any of the questions but I stupidly did but drew the line at the visit. Next time I will not answer. Going to invest in new phones as I do not have call display on the bedroom phone and they woke me up! (They even mentioned Ontario Power Authority and Enbridge Gas)
