Called today twice- lots of background noise, confirmed my name the phone number, offered some business- was hard to understand due to his assent and noise. Advised him not to call back and blocked the number.
I'm a Fraud Analyst and work for several banks. This number called with a lot of background noise and the woman was yelling to talk to me. She was extremely abrupt and bold. The woman had a slight accent. Between her yelling and accent, I made her repeat herself a few times so I can actually understand her. I then asked who's calling and she said angrily that so told me three times and said the company name (again didn't catch it) brokerage company... Online trading and stocks. I asked how she got my number and she said "Whatever! F*%k Off!" Then hung up on me. Made several attempts to call the number back and no answer.
This IS a SCAM! 90% of a real agents from legit companies wouldn't have spoke this way, let alone cuss. Also, if a legit company, you would have someone answering a call back to the number that called you unless the line is set up for outgoing calls only (a call centre). At which point you would receive a message telling you so and sometimes an alternate number to call for customer service etc. Also, a legit company would never allow THAT MUCH background noise in order to provide professional customer service... They have standards for their agents to uphold while calling out.
DO NOT provide any info to these fraudsters. Better yet, don't talk to them or block their number if you can!
Got several calls from the same number, and others today, same thing lots of background noise, Indian or similar accent. It is a company calling themselves Trade 12. Complete scam. They wanted me to open a brokerage account with them for online trading. When I asked how they got my name and number, they said it was from campaigns they were doing???!!! I kept asking them questions about the markets, they kept saying I couldn't loose, even if the share price dropped all I had to do was sell and I would make a profit??? They kept switching me between different "account managers", until eventually I spoke to a "senior account manager". I asked him how I could make a profit from my shares dropping in price and he told me 100% I would make a profit. I told him he didn't understand basic accounting, to which he told me to " go [***] yourself, you little [***]!!!" Hilarious really, he was on load speaker in the office and my colleagues and I had a good laugh.
A few hours later another "senior account manager" called trying to sell the same [***]. So I asked him the same questions as before. He started asking me what I do and how much I earn, of course I wouldn't tell him. He told me what ever I earn is a drop in the ocean compared to him. He said he earned $100,000 a week, I said I earn $1,000,000 a week!!!, to which he also told me to go [***] myself, and hung up. Very entertaining, but let it be a warning.
Received one call so far at 3:49 pm, 8 Sep 16, sounded as if it were coming from the outdoors, wind, distortion and a loud horn sound as if it was from a tractor trailer
