I've received numerous calls from these people, who claim they can save me money on my PG&E bill with some sort of solar setup, despite my telling them repeatedly not to call, as my number is on the national do-not-call registry. I don't even live in California anymore, so a "PG&E bill" is not even relevant to me. Last call was just a few minutes ago.
Daily calls, with the same old " we work with your local energy utility" fraud scam. What they do is try to do is get as much information about your utility bills and usage as possible and then sell this info to a different subgroup of solar panel scammers, who will then call you and try to pressure sell you solar panels. Hang up and report them on-line to donotcall.gov as violators.
These people called me - were obviously trying to sell something - tons of background noise from other people on phones. Long gap between call connection and them saying "hello" after I said "hello" three of four times. Then the guy got super aggressive and rude with me!! I said it was obviously a sales call and I didn't have time and he asked me if I was "stupid" and hung up. Jerks!!!
third time I was called on cell--can you believe it? crazies in home scam banks in Central America. Excellent article in New Yorker tells how it works--pretty efficient use of cast-out Immigrants who have mastered US voices to end up with jobs when they're forced to return home to crime-plagued neighborhoods, but want to survive oterhwise! Global economies trying to survive.
