It is in fact Netgear - I called Netgear and they connected me to customer care and the supervisor (Edrienne Ching) in that department admitted it was Netgear. I reamed her and Netgear out. Wow - what a stupid company.
Netgear customer support calling to request service contract extension. I was so mad about them calling me every day and hanging up after I answered that I refused to renew & urged them to correct this automatic phone dialing service they use. But guess what? Another hang up call from them again today! They said various companies could also use this same auto dialing service.
I had same situation.....multiple calls/hang-ups per day. I even tried to have my phone company block the number, but to no avail. Finally spoke with customer service/tech support at Netgear and had them remove my number from their files. Fingers crossed that this will work.
