The recorded call begins in an Indian accent "This message is intended to contact you". How wonderfully efficient!
It continues, "This is Kevin Mason calling regarding an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury requiring your attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid your appearance before a Magistrate Judge or Grand Jury for a Federal Criminal Offense. Press 1 to speak to a Senior Attorney or, Press 2 if you want to face legal charges".
I left the Call Type as Unknown since there is no option to choose SCAM.
Tangential footnote: Folks, we're living in a Post-Legal Society, where the Constitution has essentially been gutted. Where are the governmental agencies, technology corporations, telephone companies and others who have the ability to halt these, and other abuses? For the most part, on the same side. Theirs, not ours. There's money to be made here people. And yes, I'm completely disgusted with what is going on in what is supposed to be OUR country.
I'll close my rant with just one of many eye-openers by looking at the etymology or derivation of the word "governmental": Govern means to Control, Mental refers to the Mind. Governmental = Mind Control.
As aggravating as these calls are, I would suggest that our collective energy should be directed at solving what are quickly becoming much more lethal eventualities. Okay, enough energy here.
I just called back and said this: "Guess what? The IRS doesn't call people. They contact people by mail. Always. Your scam has been highly publicized so most people are onto you."Magistrate" is not the word they use in America. That's England. You don't address the person by name which is a dead giveaway and it's against the law for any debt collector to commit third-party disclosure. Plus your spelling is abysmal. Get a life, moron."
The reason these idiots keep calling is because there are actually people in this country who are so STUPID that they fall for this [***]!!! How can anyone be so STUPID!!! It's the dumbing down of America!! I don't blame these [***] who call. They're criminals. That's what criminals do. I just can't believe there are people STUPID enough to make it worthwhile for these crooks!! We all get called because they're looking for STUPID people to answer!!! STOP BEING SO STUPID!!
