I missed the call on my cell. No message left. The consensus of the previous comments I read indicate this to be a political call. I guess we can't complain since politicains and charities can still call you even if you're on the "do-not-call" registry.
I still like to block some of these numbers or even area codes so they don't ring my phone. If the same number calls again or I see others reporting multiple calls, then I will add the number to my block list.
Here are my call blocking tips for the most annyoing telemarketers. If you look at sites like whocalled.us or mrnumber.com/top10 you can determine where most of the junk telemarketing calls are coming from. Add these area codes to your block list. If you know someone in one of the area codes you want to block, you can add their number so they can ring your phone. First, you need a good call blocking device or smartphone App. I use the Digitone Call Blocker 10 for my landline or in my case VOIP digital phone service provided by Cox. The call blocking device seemed a bit pricey at $99, but it's worth every penny. My solution for my cell phone service through Verizon was to install an App called "iBlacklist" which requires a jailbroken iPhone and is available on the Cydia App Store for $12. Unfortunately the Apps in the Apple Store that claim to block calls get lousy reviews and don't seem to work well. I do not advocate jailbreaking your iPhone, however I do advise my friends to use a "silent" ringtone on their iPhones and add the caller they want to block as a "trash call" contact. You won't hear them call, but they can still leave a message.
