They call ALL the time and hang up. Called the number above (651-917-5300) and said I'd like the calls to stop. Guy asked me for my phone number and said he'd remove my number from their computer. Took about 10 seconds, if that. No hassle. We'll see if it worked...
A man called at 6:45 Sunday night, and asked for John. I informed him that no one by that name lived here, and that he had the wrong number. He proceeded to repeat my number back to me, and said that he had the right number. Then he asked me the name of the person that lived here. I asked him his business, and told him he was calling _MY_ house, and I wanted to know his business first, and he jumped on the defense. I don't know what he wants, and I don't care. Rude.
I keep seeing 651-379-5278 as a missed call on my home phone in Minneapolis. The number shows up, but the Caller ID text says PRIVATE. Once I called them back, but nobody answered. So I Googled it, and lo and behold, I found this website. Thanks for exposing these folks. Now, when they call again, I will know the truth behind their calls. (Now I can just hope THIS website is not a hoax!)
I know all to well what this company is all about. Consider this an inside look @ what they do. All of what is written above is true. This is a scumbag company that not only exploits community concerns and organizations, but they steal money from their employees and encourage employees to do things like "...sound official so they think you're cop so they give you money...". They also demand that even though you ask to be taken off a list, that the employees DO NOT do so. Instead they just cycle the name and number through to the next campaign that will resume in 6 months. This however will not stop the calls, because here is the kicker......They are the ones calling for ALL!! law enforcement and public agencies in your state. Here's how it works. They pretty much call any registered # in a state. This is called a cold call. You agree to help out with that organization. UH OH!!! Now the call bonanza will begin. Instantly your name and number are cycled to 4 or 5 different lists. For instance, you help with your state troopers? Get ready to be called for the FOP, sheriffs etc. If you ask to be taken off the list then you will be only removed on the list you requested, but the calls from the others will continue. As far as the rudeness goes it's not an issue to S.S. They have no monitoring of calls, verification of sales, nothing. And when callers are heard being rude, it's often just laughed at or joked about or just plain ignored. Only when a complaint is filled does it become an issue. Long story short, the calls will continue and good luck getting them to stop. Especially if you have donated once.
Person called son answered phone the person asked for someone my son said who? (cause he couldnt understand him) Then the person in a LOUD rude voice said "I said ******" (my name) and hung up. My son was very concerned how the guy acted so he called the # back but no answer. I too was very concerned when he told me so I googled the # to check it out. Found this site and was happy to see it was just the lowlifes that beg for money for DARE, state patrol crimestoppers and all that. I made the big mistake of contributing to DARE long ago Now they all call me insistantly. Even tho now I say no
