Keeps calling and hanging up with no name on the caller id. Finally called the number but no option to get off the list. I hit "5" to cancel a pickup and get Laurie, who starts on some script and and I can't interrupt her to stop her. I asked why you keep calling me and hanging up with no message and no identifying name on the CID. She just says "we just wanted you to know we will have a truck in your area tomorrow and we wanted to let you know" but that's a lie since they call every day and they have a truck in my area every day. I asked how to get it stopped and she said give me your number and I will pass it on" and I said "so the calls will stop?" and she wouldn't say yes, only that she will pass it on. We'll see.
What a way to discredit your operation and piss people off by calling and hanging up with no name on the CID.
It disturbs me that an organization helping the vets is getting this kind of reputation, my husband is a Vietnam Vet. So when I read the comments after I looked up the number that called me (we no longer answer any call unless they begin to leave a message and I recognize them as legit), I called the number and asked to speak with a supervisor about their outgoing calls. I explained to the supervisor that they are getting a bad reputation, and that disturbs me. She said they have both live operators and robo calls. The robo ones are looking for a live phone number and behave differently than a real live person calling. She was disturbed that the Vets' reputation was being hurt by this and said she would bring the issue up to management. She also asked if I wanted my phone number removed. So the TAKEAWAY IS THIS: call the number, ask to speak with a supervisor and (without anger) tell them you believe in their cause but want your number removed and they will do that. But DO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR. Then just keep their number and call it next time you need to make a donation. Good luck!
