After responding for a Free Laptop on Craigslist I receiced this email:
Hi,

I never thought I would get this many emails for one item, but you emailed me first, so we diceided to give it to you.  Just go to: http://phone-whitelist.org,validate your number through the site and I'll contact you and give you directions to our place, so we can decide what time you want to come get it.

Same situation as above, except I didn't go through with clicking on the link to get a call. I had responded to the craigslit ad asking for more info. This was the response I got back and thought that it was fishy that they didn't answer my question.

Got a similar message when I responded to a free item in a craigslist ad. I did not and will not click on the link especially after googling the email address.  Copy follows:
