Been getting these calls for awhile now. I normally hang up, but this time i pressed "1". The automated call says that "Our records show that you have not updated your Google Business account... Press one to verify, or press two to be removed from this list." I am still not sure if legit or not. My feeling is that it is not, and that the SCAMMERS just want to verify that they have a live number so they can call back and harrass (pressing 1 or 2 would accomplish that either way).
BINGO. You are absolutely correct, and they have harassed our business endlessly under many different names and using countless phone numbers. And they will NOT stop. See:
Google 29Prime or 29 Prime. That's the culprit and they are RELENTLESS. They have harassed our business endlessly under many different names and using countless phone numbers. And they will NOT stop. See:
Additional numbers, and BY FAR not all:
405-293-8500
888-416-0273
888-513-7746
949-777-6616
I BELIEVE THEY ARE PART OF OR ASSOCIATED WITH >> CALLERID4U. That company is just as relentless as 29Prime. From what I've found online CallerID4U has hundreds of different phone numbers they call from, they're practically impossible to trace and they ARE impossible to get rid of.
Answered and press 1 to verify Google listing. I pressed 1 and after a few seconds talked to someone live. They asked for my name but I didn't want to divulge any information so I said "Let's verify what information you already have on file". He said, "OK, um". Then he hung up. Make sure you are in control of these calls. If this is a service you didn't initiate, don't give them any personal or credit card info.
I am not positive if this is related but I had a small business a couple of years ago in Southern CA. To give my business a boost I signed up on Angie's List and groupon. Shortly after my sign up for both of these companies I started getting calls from people saying they saw my ad on Google but I never signed up for Google. I closed my business after 1.5 yrs due to the cost of overhead. Up until about three months ago I was getting calls from Google asking if I would like to increase my business by advertising through them. Apparently either Angie's List or Groupon sell customer contact info. They appear to be automatic dial telemarketing. I would err on the side of caution. Not everything on the WEB is true. Who knows what this contact really is. If you press the number it confirms they have reached you.
