Have been getting calls from this number daily for a few weeks. The time it takes for somebody to answer makes it pretty obvious it's an auto dialer. When somebody does pick up it is also obvious English is a second, third or even fourth language to them.
This number, 657-233-8365, is preceded by the number 7857402:8016665, which leads me to believe the call originates in another country or is using computer spoofing for the call.
Not much we can do about it unless the U.S. signs on to some kind of United Nations enforcement program, and God only knows how that will backfire on us as UN heads change over the years.
Thanks all the same, but I'll continue to ignore these calls on my own.
Called and hung up without a message. Appreciate all the comments. get these calls on lan line and cell phone, home and office. must check phone number each time before answering a call.
This is a mis-direction scam. When you receive a call from this number, as soon as it is answered, your number becomes the number available via caller ID as part of a conference call. What this means is, someone is using your number to camouflage their own number when making calls for dubious, possibly illegal purposes.
