Robo Call from "ALARM". Pitch was "Name given to them from one of my neighbors" Gives instructions on numbers to push to speak to a representative which I did and then the robo call system tried to locate a rep to talk with me, which was unsuccessful after about 5 minutes at which point it automatically hung up. My number is a registered "Do Not Call" number and I'm sure, no one recommended me for them to call.
Called landline @ 5:55p EST
robo call about friends recommending me for a free home security system with free wifi. Free is always expensive I hung up after a few seconds.
I only answered because Arvin is a small farming town outside my hometown, I knew better. My bad.
Blocked now
Do not call doesn't work for me, Brought a Panasonic phone from Costco. It. Blocks 250 numbers and a range of area codes. If blocked number comes up you have option to have the phone rang once or not at all. Love it.
I have one as well-read the owners manual "blocking ranges of numbers". You can actually block a range of numbers with as few as 2 digits. So if I block say 80, 800, 801, 802, 803...and so on would be blocked. So blocking groups of area codes it easy. If you do the math, 10x10=100 you could block every possible area code in the country (real and fictitious) and still have 150 spaces available. Of course you don't want to block your own area code or friends or family, so you'll need yo adjust accordingly by adding digits and skipping some area codes. I have 96% of all area codes blocked and love the quiet.
