You can use a call blocker. The do not call list will not keep crooks from calling you. That's what makes them crooks. Use a call blocker and don't answer a number you don't recognize. If it turns out to be someone you know, they will leave a message. If you continue to answer random calls from strangers who turn out to be crooks, you're asking for trouble.
This number interrupted me while I was on a work call. Sent to voice mail. No message left but they called back immediately. Declined the call, now blocked.
