I got a call today but she said her name is Dana. Told me that I would need a background check that I would have to pay for. Thank goodness I google EVERYTHING.
Dang it! I had an interview with Lisa on Wed. and I spoke with Dana on the phone and I was scammed I guess. I paid the $75 background check fee and I am supposed to start training next Tuesday and bring my $99 start up kit fee with me. I was so looking forward to starting a new job. What do I do now? Call and cancel on her and report her?
As a serious job seeker, I "Google" everything about a company before I go to ANY job interview. Boy was I surprised at what I had learned about this company! This company is supposedly called National Safety & Security (which by the way, has changed names several times). A woman named "Dana" called me to set up an interview. I was told that I would be informed right after the interview, if I was going to be hired or not. I personally, have been involved in the hiring process myself, and thought this was rather odd (1st red flag!) Then, I was told that I would have to pay a $75.00 fee for a back ground check (2nd red flag!) A legit business NEVER requires a potential employee, to pay for their own back ground check!! Anyway, if you really do your homework, and research this so-called "business", you will learn that it is a SCAM. If you go to their web site and really read it, you will realize that a professional could not have set it up. The grammar & spelling are horrible! Regardless, I will contact the DA's office tomorrow. This is illegal!!!
