I have been hearing from this company 8-10 times a week on different numbers. I tried what you suggest. I would have the screener put me thru to the alarm company in my area and then ask him multiple questions. They dont like questions. They get nasty. Then they hang up on you. HA HA wasting their time is fun. The keep calling though. I have called them backs with different names, phone numbers etc. They look them up. HA HA I just tell them if they want to fight over my phone number and why it is not showing up then fine, I thought I was calling about an alarm system. Then get put throught
Don't answer these calls. All you have to do is pick up your phone (or open your cellphone) and they know you are a real person and not just some 10 digit combination their computer is trying. They'll sell your number and you'll start getting more calls. And when you pick those up the process starts all over again. It doesn't matter if you "press one", don't speak, or jump up and down and call them names. They have you and it's too late.
If you don't recognize a phone number then don't pick it up. If it's important they will leave you a message (which is then safe to listen to). If it's not important they won't leave you a message, they'll leave you alone.
Got this call at 5:59 1/2/13 shown only as Native American. I simply do not answer these calls as they are either scammers or trying to sell something, in either case illegal. Something needs to be done but it seem no one cares. My new year is starting off with a whole new batch of these calls, all bogus. These vermin should be paying for our phones since they seem to think they should have a right to keep them at their disposal at all times.
