Got a call today and decided to answer it. I waited while their computer transferred me. The guy said he was calling for some sort of energy survey. He said the town in my area had gotten grants to help low income households, seniors, etc. with their energy bills. He asked me if my energy bills averaged over $75/mo. I said no and he said " you don't qualify." I asked him to take me off their call list. He sald "they won't call you because YOU DON'T QUALIFY!!" What a jerk! Too bad these guys are so slippery and hard to catch...I'd love to turn them in to the "Do not call" people.
Try shutting down any answering machine (if it's a landline) and letting it ring. You don't want these clowns getting any kind of an answer or you're signing up for more calls.
yes, I do that too - and have successfully used my fax machine to block these numbers - problem is these calls are now getting to my cell phone - yesterday I got one from "account services" - I immediately hung up and blocked that number, too.
