I just got my first call from this number on my cell. I don't answer calls from #'s I don't know. No msg. I've had a couple similar in the last few months. The last one I started blowing a softball whistle into the phone when I answered. It took a 2-3 tries, but they quit calling. I guess I'll need to find my whistle.
It's a fundraising call from Obama for America. I returned the call, spoke immediately to a human, declined the invitation to donate, requested my number be removed from their call list, and was assured it would be within 48 hours.
I'm glad to know it's Obama for America. Thanks for reporting it. I still might not answer, but it won't annoy me like the other spammer who keeps trying to sell me Comcast..... I guess I might not feel the same if I weren't still an Obama supporter. Or if I lived somewhere where the race was going to be hotly contested and all the candidates were calling, all the time. I don't know, even so -- we need a president, I don't need HBO.
I've been getting the calls for awhile now and finally answered because I wanted to know who it was and I know I don't owe anyone money so felt safe to do so. And yes, it's the Obama campaign asking for recurring donations.
They call and you don't answer, they don't leave a message. They call and you do answer, the phone disconnects. It seems the purpose of the call is to get you to call back. It is Obama for America, and they said they will remove the number. We will see. Now, to follow through with the rest of the calls coming in from around the country.
