I am ready for serious fines imposed on anyone who makes a robocall or who calls a phone number without the permission of the one being called. These people are total ***holes! My phone rings and when I pick up there is no sound. I cannot call back. They leave no message. I got another message from another "donor services" organization telling me that I can still be called even if I am on the national do-not-call list. Who and when did my phone become public property? I remember buying it. I thought it was mine.
So, there are so many organizations out there. Is there an organization that goes to the offices where robocalls are made and arrests people for fraud?
I just realized what is probably going on -- I believe these are scams, and they are calling numbers just so that they can charge some gullible non-profit organization for all the calls they claim they made, but they just make a kind of phone line connection, enough to make it look like there was a call, when in fact there was no real call, just a fake record that is used to justify billing. Therefore, the non-profits need to investigate the fraudulent organizations who bill them for contacting prospective donors with robocalls. They are not contacting prospective donors; they are turning on a machine that dials and bills for a call when no real call ever occurred!
I receive calls from: 661 670 2619 frequently. I do not answer the call and no message is left.
Is there anything I can do to block calls from this number?
This number has called at least once for the past week. Today I picked it up, they asked for my daughter, who wasn't home. Said they'd call back, so I searched them out. Sadly found it's a fundraising company for PP. I was the one who donated to them, but for some reason literature shows up for my adult daughter. Whatever. Seeing how they allow a fund raising company to harass people in their name they will not receive any more donations from this household.
They've been notified using the "Gift" email address. Thank you to the individual who posted it.
Seriously, it's getting so that donating to most entities (even Breast Cancer Research!) just triggers harassment now. Tiresome, and sad.
