This is a Skype #. Do not answer this number. They informed a lady they needed to reimburse her for an overpaid account. She lost over $800.00. False name, false address.
call came in via skype from a man with an accent asking about shipping something and wanting to get our skype name. It seemed odd so we asked them to email us instead but never gave our email address and never heard from the man again.
A relative got a phone call from a person pretending to be my wife. This number appeared on her phone as a Skype account. They spoke English, identified themselves as my wife, and asked my relative for money, saying that she and I were in Ecuador and had been arrested for speeding and drugs, and needed money to keep us out of jail. My relative immediately contacted me about the scam.
Received a call at8:33pm from this number, Caller ID showedSkype User. The lady spoke in Spanish, which she was wasting her time and ours as we do not speak spanish, and informed the lady w"we do not speak spanish" and to quit calling.
A man called my parents last night and said hello to my mother. She did not recognize his voice and she asked, "Who is this?" The man responded, "This is your grandson." He had a friendly approach, and asked how she was and also asked for her to send him money because he was in trouble with the law and didn't want to tell his parents. My mother caught on quickly to the scam and she said, "Oh, is this John?" (There is no one in our family by that name) and he said, "Yes, its me, John!" My mother responded by saying that she does not have a grandson named John, and the guy hung up. NEVER GIVE OUT INFORMATION TO ANYONE ON THE PHONE OR ONLINE!
Call from Skype user #661-748-0248 asking; you know who this is? My husband thought he recognized the voice and said the name. He proceeded to say he was in jail on a drug charge and needed $6000 to get bonded out. He described being raped in jail the night before. My husband told him no he could not send $6,000. He kept talking and a police captain got on the line and repeated all the info and said he would reduce the amount to $3,000. My husband still said no. They put up a good argument but did not get any money from us. NEVER SAY WHO YOU THINK IT IS CALLING LET THEM TELL YOU AND THEN YOU DECIDE IF IT IS A SCAM.
