Long story short..i was called by this # i was told i have been chosen to recieve $5000gov grant. They would mail me a form that i needed to fill out and return..then he said he needed to ask me a few questions. he asked what my highest year completed in school. i then hung up. They called back right away. I didnt answer.
I got these calls many times over the past months and did not pick up the phone. No message was left. I reprted this to the BBB and state atty general office. Both agencies said they are familiar with this call number. Would like to be in the court room when they haul these dudes in and sock them with a BIG fine.
Called tonight and tried to trick by saying that my computer was full of viruses. ask to to down load "teamview" software. like a dumb [***] i did which gave them full control of my computer. then they tried to get my cc# to send me a rebate. didn't fall and hung up, they tried to call me again and hung up on them. deleted the program and cleaned up computer. they should be put in jail. caller id said it was a Skype number.
