Diane, a dumber than dirt female called me this morning, identifying herself only as "California Design." I could hear boiler room (aka call center noise in the background) and, based on her awkward speech pattern, she might have had someone there coaching her. In any event, I asked for their phone number (part of the information a caller is required to provide.) Instead of providing this required information, she continued on with her spiel. When I asked a second time for the phone number, she simply grunted "uh huh" and disconnected. I will be filing a complaint with the FCC for violation of the Do Not Call list.
Called my home phone. Didn't leave a message. When I called back, it says that the number is not available for call return. They're getting smart. They're using my area code so I'll think it's a local call.

This number called me at 7:30 in the morning on 120512! I didn’t answer, they didn’t leave a message. When I called back I reached a Verizon Wireless message: "The number you have reached has been changed or disconnected". I Googled the number to discover there are hundreds, maybe thousands of complaints about this same number. Most say if they answered it was a foreign male voice asking for SSN and DOB info. When people attempted to call the number back they receive the same recorded message I received.
I called Verizon Wireless. Their system wouldn’t even look up the number, but said it was having technical difficulties, then hung up on me. I talked to a representative and told her about the situation. She didn’t know what to do with the information.

They called again today. Said they were from California Design and want to sell me solar panels. When I asked to be removed from their list, they hung up.
