I posted an add on Craigslist and someone texted from this number. They wanted to purchase my item (in Texas) and wanted my name to write on a check that they would send to me to cash with an extra amount added for their "Carrier" who would pick up the item!!REALLY??? When I texted back that I would only take cash and scammers are those who pay by check and not cash...no answer.I even dropped the price but still no answer. Beware!!
Names are unimportant, since they can be easily invented or assumed.
You may have been exposed to one of the "Auction Scams" described here:

Remember to return here, to 800notes.com, after you look at any of the information at that site, either to post more information, or to let us know you avoided the scam, or to read any further information about that number that others may post.
Same thing here. Interested in my craigslist item. Gave the name Michelle Jade. Several text messages back and forth, but when I said I would only take cash, texting stopped. How annoying! Clearly the scam described on phonehelp.2truth.com.
This just happened to me. I posted a dress on Craigslist. Their grammar they used in their texts seemed broken like they were foreign and they kept pressuring me to give them my name for the payment and that a carrier would pick up the dress. I'm sad to say that they got my name and address from me, but I made sure that I gave them an address to my college apartment that I'm moving out of in two days instead of m house. After googling the number and finding this thread, I immediately told them that the deal was off.
