Just received a text from this number today using "Michelle Jones" and inquiring about my wedding dress in Alabama... I didn't respond. I immediately googled the number and found this site.
Just had "Michelle Jess" contact me to buy my wedding dress. I actually gave her my name and address. She sent a cashier check for triple the amount. I knew something was off when I received that. I googled her name, cashier check same and etc and found this site. She sent me texts from numbers that were located in different states, PA and New York. I think someone has set up a computer system that sends out these texts. She texted me asking if I received payment and I told her she was a scammer and do not contact me again. Sure enough the next day she sends me the same text.
the same thing happened to me, selling a wedding dress on Craigslist . I had forgotten about the texts because I was not going to follow through and then I received a cashiers check. Did you report it to the police or just stop responding to the text or what? I have the check I have not received a follow up call or text do you have any advice for me on how I should proceed when they contact me?

my question is, I think lots of people can get my name and address and phone number, what is the scam part as far as what can they get from me? Are they expecting me to mail the dress?
