Called at 8:30 p.m. on a Sunday. Who the frick does that???
Oh yea -- these morons.
See, my father was a schoolteacher, and to avoid getting the occasional prank call from his students, a long, long time ago we had our phone listing, our public listing if you will, put under the maiden name of my mother. So now the entry on most online records and definitely the phone book has it [her maiden name] [her initial] [our family's last name].
This idiot is always the same person calling. A male. "Is [her maiden name] there? Hello??"
And hangs up.
I have no idea who he is, who he works for, but the very fact that he asks for the name that is in the phone book tells me that this is either a telemarketer or an idiot (is there a difference?).
This number calls here repeatedly and just has letter I in callerID. Have reported to donotcall.gov but I am still getting them. No doubt they claim to be a charity to the FCC which is most likely not true. I never answer, but on top of all the other spam calls, it gets irritating. It may be worth getting call blocking from AT&T since this is my landline. Good grief!
Sunday evening I received a call from 6783102870. I said "Hello" and they said my legal first name (as opposed to the name I go by). I said "Yes" and they immediately hung up. I wish I would have said "who wants to know" and been utterly rude!
I am on the Do Not Call list and rarely give out my landline phone number…and regularly receive unwanted calls.
