I too received this message, and am currently filing a police report for identity theft through SYNCHRONY BANK as I had someone apply for a credit card with my information and social. It appeared as an inquiry on my credit report.
A woman left a message saying she was Elizabeth Change with the Fraud Division but did not say where the fraud division was from. She also said she had a case in her office that has been submitted against me and needed to hear from either myself or my lawyer immediately today. Needless to say, she will not be hearing from me.
I just received the same call. Elizabeth was not available so I spoke with someone else. I have 2 felony cases against me for a payday loan that I didn't receive. The young lady Ms. Smith couldn't even say the name of the bank appropriately. She was American. This is so unfortunate. I will be filing a case with CPFB so they can call them directly. I didn't have this phone number in 2013 and will call the bank that I was supposed to have had in 2013 when the loan was deposited. This definitely substantiates not to apply for anything online as it relates to a loan,
Calls from another number on the caller ID and leaves this number as the call back number. States she has a fraud case against me. Scam artist and not a very good one at that."
