Got a call from a supposed debt collection company about a debt I owed to some payday loan company. Very little info, very suspicious. Address of the company is in Utah but the number calling me was from Georgia. Letterhead has no contact numbers, just an address. No website, no BBB reports, and unable to find any info from any other site on this collection company. Stephen Calldwell is the caller, very rude, impatient and aggressive. Talked down to me like I was stupid for not going along with what he was telling me. Tried to get my bank account info to make a payment on the debt. I reported him to the consumer protection bureau.
Received a call at my work number and message left and it says this is Jason Cobb with the Legal Dept. at NCR - that he calling on an file that was placed with them in Norfolk County. He says that I need to call him back to resolve the issue. He leaves a number of 678-619-5434 and leaves a file number but he is talking so very fast that you can't get the file number down. I have no idea what this about and don't believe it is a legit call. Not sure if i should return call or not.
It gets better, they also use this number too 678-619-5433,, I never spoke to any of them ,three different people have called and left nasty threatening vm,saying on such and such a date the local Sheffield is coming to my home and work(I don't work and I get sick, so no one can touch that,,and if I want to stop the shefficf than I am to call some 800 number with a special docket number, it so full of bs,, they are mean, they leave the same VMware on one of my children's numbers who call me out of fear thinking I did something really bad and that I am going to jail..this is illegal,, I won't fall into a fake scam trap.i did look into payday loans over 5 years ago,, but heck no,, I am letting anyone scare me or my family like l they are in the mob,,lol,, I think it kinda funny really when they say the shefficf is coming on Friday at 2 pm and it is wed,, the shefficf never showed up,,I didn't do anything wrong except look into payday loans,, that these creeps buy our applications and than try to con us,,
