You are so right! I had actually gotten a weird offer myself but I never pursued it any further. I think that we just wont use Craigslist from now on lol. Thanks for your reply.
This is one of the scammers that says they will pay you via check for your item and pay you x amount of dollars over your asking price for your inconvienence and then have one of their "movers" come and pick up the item.. This time it was via text message..
I got a text from this guy who said he would buy our industrial equipment from our company. He wanted to "pay" more than my asking price, to cover the cost of shiping, and for me to cash the check and give the difference to his shipping service a money order. Scam.

I put a violin on SETexas.com last week. had a caller from this phone call me. also phone # 8573423131. I received the check today for over $2k
I was only asking $400. the check was on a company out of Santa Fe Calif. I called the company who said it was a fraud and not to cash check, because it was no good. the lady who answered told me not to give up what ever I was selling and not to send them the difference, that is what they would ask for. so when the man "richard Bill Jr" text me to see if I had made deposit yet, I told him I would not deposit, it was a fraud. He came back with "what are you talking about?" did you contact company and tell them who it was for? I answered yes and they had never heard that name. So obviously they have a sting team working out of those phone numbers???
on the over night mailing he sent to me he had address of: 58 S. Mulberry St. Batesville IN 47006 under name of Richard Bill JNR
same man called me, I did not answer so he text me to ask why I refused to answer his call? I told him he was a fraud and not to text me again becaues I had called the company the check was on.
he then told me I had no right to call the company and he would send someone by my place to pick up item tomorrow.
I told him he had better not do that, that i was giving nothing to anyone.
