got an e-mail response to my service offered on Craig's list. I insisted on more information before giving my address so he could "send me a cashier's check and would you please deduct your fee then send the remainder of money on to the agent moving my furniture" -- email said his name was charles, and said he was relocating from Canada, needs to have the money transferred in next day or two. Scam red flags came up in my mind. I replied to the email and told him to call me so we could clarify some of the questions. He says he is needing my dog care services, and will pay $30/hr for three hours, three times per week--I should receive a cashier's check for $5000, deduct my portion for two weeks' salary, and send remainder to furniture/moving agent.I asked him multiple questions about his dog--no answers forthcoming--he wants my address first to send the check...I think its a scam.--oh, I live in Missouri--he says he's moving here next week
Same thing has happened to me, the guy emails me first then I tell him to call me, he does call me and we talk about the deal... I'm selling my 1985 ford thunderbird with a V8 5.0 engine... we settle on a price then he emails me asking for all my info and stupid me gives it to him and he says he'll send me the check today and it should b here by wednesday.. we'll see what happens
