I had lost my cell phone and the very next day I started to get phone calls from an international number first, then just an unknown number and this number. They harrassed me 30 times in a row going back and forth on my land line and cell phone. Then again that same night 20+ times. I had 17 vm messages, all of them were silent. I assumed it was the person who found my cell phone because, my landline is used only for bills and non of my family or friends have that number. But my home number was listed in my cell phone as "home." After a day and a half of ingoring all the calls stopped. I had answered the phone a few times and it was always silence, too silent, like they had the mute button on. Anyways they hace stopped.
It's the "Your computer has a virius" guys again except this time they were from the Windows "hacking department". The guy that called me was good and didn't get tripped up when I asked him which computer he was calling about or the fact that I told him I didn't have a Windows computer at all (I said I had a "Macintosh"). I suspect he was working with a partner because the line would go quiet every now and again when he'd try to get me to do a task and I'd make up some weird result to confuse him. Eventually I got board with trying to get this guy to hang up on me and set the phone down in front of my speaker that was playing a 10 hour YouTube video of elevator music.
I have received so many calls from this number in the last two days it's unbelievable. When I did answer one of them, a guy said something about my computer being hacked. I pretended that I didn't speak English and hung up!
